After trying out all my heart stencils and thinking about flowers I decided to go for something more simple for the hand quilting. I'm also trying to get more even with my straight stitching.
I'm using 2 strands DMC Ecru in the border blocks. I'm working my way round and just have 3 sections to finish.
Then I need to decide how to hang it.
So far the only machine stitching has been the internal seams. I rolled the fabric from back to front and slip stitched it. First time I've tried that on a wall hanging and I like it a lot.
Totally different subject. A package appeared in the mail last night from Little Stitches in Texas. It's an "I asked hubby to get this for my anniversary gift if he had not already bought something". He happily obliged but y'all are going to have to wait for a couple of weeks to see what it is 'cause it's getting wrapped :) Ordered Tuesday, speedy delivery, I am impressed.
I've been having fun zooming around on my supersonic magic carpet visiting the blogs at A Whimsical Bohemian's event. I am #536.
This is lovely! U are inspiring me to take out my sewing machine and learn about quilting....I think I will try a finishing with one of my stitched panel. Just need to muster up the courage to give it a go.

Oooh lovely heart. I have that in my stash somewhere. Which part of Scotland are you from. My family are all from Fife (except my sister and I who are English born). x
ReplyDeleteOh, pretty!!! I think the simply quilting really showcases the stitching of the heart.
